State DECA 2023 Results for Hays High
Twelve Hays High DECA students competed at DECA’s Kansas Career Development Conference in Kansas City, KS March 5-7, 2023. There were over 950 students competing in a variety of events. Listed below are the students, their events, and how they finished.

The Hays High Indians fall to Kapaun Mt. Carmel 75-46 in the 5A Substate championship. Hays finishes the season 13-9. Great season Indians!
5A boys substate final: KMC 40-Hays 22 halftime.
Kapaun 17-Hays 13 end of 1st.
The Hays Lady Indians fall to Bishop Carroll 67-32 in the 5A substate final. Hays finishes the season 14-8. Great season, Ladies! Congrats to Bishop Carroll and good luck at State!

HAYS HIGH SENIOR PARENTS: Due to a Sub state home basketball game Wed night, the PROJECT GRADUATION PARENT MEETING has been moved to Thurs, Mar 2 at 7pm in the HHS cafeteria.
With the overtime win, Hays High's Harley Zimmerman is the 2023, 5A 132 lb. STATE CHAMPION!

Hays High will host the first round of the 5A Substate games: HHS Lady Indians vs KMC on Tues 2-28 @ 6:00pm, Boys vs Great Bend on 2-29 @ 7:00pm.
For 23 years Dan Balman has touched the lives of many Hays High students. He's been the games voice on the PA for 20 of those years. He has seen an amazing amount of great games and great athletes during his time at HHS. Enjoy your retirement Mr. Balman. You will be missed!
